Aibu to be thinking this?

I live in a rural place with around a population of 1000. In the past 5 yrs I have known two mothers from nursery and one Dad from school die from cancer, one child murdered, two people die in road accidents one known to me and the other one a stranger but a friend was the other party in the collision and another person fatally injured in a freak accident. AIBU to think statistically this is a hell of a lot of tragedy for one small place.

AIBU to feel I want to run and not look back. It is scaring the shit out of me.

God it sounds like you live in Soap Land!

My primary school has seen 70% of its faculty die of cancer since I was there some twenty years ago. it is located right next to an army base, which was investigated to see if there was any link, and nothing.

Oops didnt mean to post twice. Bloody phone.

Thats interesting though. Don't think there is anything like that near us. We are in the middle of no where in an 'Area of outstanding beauty' with outstanding tragedy to boot.

1000 people, over 5 years, only 3 cancer deaths . . . I think that's really low, statistically. None of it sounds out of the ordinary really, I don't think. In the last year I have personally known 2 suicides and 2 cancer deaths. Sometimes it just seems like it's all bad news, but in reality it is probably satistically totally normal. Not that it helps much!

The 3 cancer deaths have all been this past year. All people know personally by me and parents to young children. The 5 yrs was to include all the other tragic stuff.

I know it is just life but sometimes it's just like wtf happened to good news Sad
