Not one bit. It freaks me out completely. Panicky.
Hugely. Want to cry.

Why? Its completely irrational. I am a fairly sane grown up. But i want to hide.

And its really loud and crashing.

Don't worry, it's just the angels bowling.

What worries you about it?

JamEyelid · 22/07/2013 22:49

I love it, the animals don't though.

I read the title of this thread to the tune of 'I Don't Like Mondays'

rosieposey · 22/07/2013 22:53

At your cervix - your in ( or around the Swindon area yes?) it's not too bad here - I was in the Marlborough/hungerford area when you started this thread and it was worse that way. In bed now and there have been a couple of loud claps but I don't think it's as bad here ( I'm in North Swindon ) as it was Newbury way an hour or so ago.

Hope you sleep alright tonight - if there's a storm our way I'll be up watching it as I love a good storm - I know what you mean about the noise though - its a bit loud but no worse than the red arrows this weekend just gone? Grin

KobayashiMaru · 22/07/2013 22:59

Um, ok.

Why would you be being unreasonable about it though?

hazeyjane · 23/07/2013 07:56

How are you doing this morning, atyour?

There is some pretty torrential hail ATM.

specialsubject · 23/07/2013 09:27

how to stay safe in a thunderstorm used to be taught in junior school. You are fine in your house.

unless you are out on an exposed moor (which would be stupid given the forecast) you are in no danger.

science. Learn about it.

Emz8369 · 23/07/2013 14:56

I hate it too!

Gruntfuttock · 23/07/2013 15:04

I love thunderstorms. Always have.

missesjellybean · 23/07/2013 15:13

am I the only one thinking of the thunder song from the film Ted Grin

VanitasVanitatum · 23/07/2013 15:15

I LOVE thunderstorms..

You are totally safe in your house but of course fear isn't always rational, it'll be over soon and the sun will be back.. Til then there's Wine

Chattymummyhere · 23/07/2013 15:34

I hate it when people say you are safe in your house... Have none of you ever seen a house that's been struck my lightning with a massive hole though the roof? That's the hell my Aunty had one year!

However the rain was very welcome from midnight till 6am here it was so much cooler!

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 23/07/2013 15:37

Just think of it as several wheelie bins blowing around. I like it. Lightning is a little bit scary but in a good way.

Sallyingforth · 23/07/2013 17:13

No, I haven't because it's so rare.
But I have seen houses with a massive hole in the roof due to electrical or gas faults, or cooking fire fires, or cigarette ends.
They are all FAR more common than lightning strikes.
