...with embarrassment?

I've been trying out a bit of online dating. It seems to have worked for some, and with a busy full time job and kids at home (some of the time), it's tricky to meet new people.

It's been quite slow so far - I've done my best with both pics and description, tried to be charming/not a freak in messages, and I'm being honest with myself about my chances (ie not messaging perky 19 year old students...), but no replies.

Finally, today, I've received a reply. Someone of a similar age, (no kids so fingers crossed not going to see this), lives fairly local, seems nice.

Personally, I'd far rather meet someone in person than spend ages online (MN excepted...). So I asked her if she'd like to meet for a drink.

But no. I realised after sending that my auto-fucking-correct changed the word, so I actually said:

"Maybe you'd like to join me for a deposit?"

I've just offered my services as a sperm donor, haven't I?

I'm sure she'll understand if you explain it was auto correct, I think it's happened to a lot of us. I told a colleague I'd happily bum them it originally said BBM. Thanks auto correct..awkward!!!

Brilliant - but tbh if I got that message and then another apologising for the autocorrect and you were not in fact offering to upduff me I'd think you were honest and had a sense of humour! I'd be more Hmm if you didn't have the confidence to re write it.

Am still laughing - even poking myself in the eye hasn't seemed to stop me Grin

Oh and yesterday, just slightly off subject, tied my dog (very old with cataracts) to the end of a bench and went in shop. Came out and he was under it in the shade with three old ladies sat on bench. I went to untie him and apologised to the lady on the end, cos he was trying to walk through her leg as if it wasn't there iyswim. I said 'sorry he cant see your leg he's blind as a bat' these days.

Unfortunately I didn't look up whilst saying this. If I had I would have seen the white stick propped against her other leg and the dark glasses.
