For opposite day!

DS springs it on me every bloody time, usually when I tell him its time to come off the wii. Or when I tell him that he needs to eat all of his potatoes.

AIBU to think that a weeks notice is just good manners!

Haha my dss does this too...I think a month should be given and it should be scheduled on my calendar so I can go out and leave dp to deal with it

Sleepyhead33 · 21/07/2013 22:15

??

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:26

Oh yes, a month would be even better. It could be like the full moon, every 28 days. And not start halfway through the day.

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 22:29

Halfway through? Mine normally starts when I tell him no to the computer or he needs to eat his dinner/do his homework...funnily enough it never lasts long

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:34

Oh yes, they do change the rules a fair bit. We could write a charter.

Opposite day will only occur every 28 days.

Opposite day will commence at 7am and end at 8pm.

Opposite day does not apply to homework.

Wikipedia tells me what this is and that is usually on January 25th!

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:38

Ah, but is it really? If its opposite day, does that mean that it isn't?

OP posts:
babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 22:40

lissie
Does not apply to eating dinner
Does not apply to saying please and thank you
Adults have the final say

25th Jan...once a year sounds a lot better!

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 22:41

Good point lissie maybe we could nominate Feb 29th, by time next one comes round they might have outgrown it

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:42

oooh, those are good. I also like the Feb 29th idea.

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 22:53

How old is your kiddy

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:55

OP posts:
babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 22:58

He will be 10 in 2 weeks so sorry to say even with a Feb 29th approach you still have one to go lol

lissieloo · 21/07/2013 22:58

My son does this too, especially when he has to have a shower/turn off the tv or xbox.

Drives me insane at times with the opposite day chopping and changing

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 23:02

See being the evil step mum I can just ban it full stop!

Dad's favorite statement is "if it was opposite day" and my answer is always "i am so glad its not" discussion ended

babyhmummy01 · 21/07/2013 23:03

Dss not dad sorry, autocorrect on my phone

lissieloo · 22/07/2013 12:02

Happy opposite day, y'all!

Today it started at 9.30, and I am having to watch what I say.

A lot.

Wink
