seriously, is it just me or have any of you noticed that as soon as you post something on one thread a familiar name appears, then you post elsewhere and the same person posts shortly after you?

Am I being followed?

and why?

is it just me? AIBU?

Could it be that you and this person are just interested in the same things?

I quite often notice that there are a couple of names that always seem to crop up on the threads I'm on, but that's because we have similar interests.

It is probably just that certain people are online at the same time.

I'm the same Dorange I don't read poster's names either.

On other forums, I'd instantly know who was who by their tiny avatar beside each post...but if they changed it I wouldn't have a clue because I'd still forget to read the name.

An avatar is a little pic that you choose in your settings...so that it comes up next to all your posts.

They don't have them here on MN but on other forums they do.

It helps to instantly recognise the poster...for us lazy arses who can't be bothered to read and remember names.

I go on active threads and I reckon a few people do the same, so if you're on line at the same time the chances are that you'll post on the same threads.

I don't look at names normally but will now in case you think I'm stalking youGrin

I only ever notice regular, non name changers...and even then it's only if I'm going to quote them/answer directly to them.

There's no point in remembering any other names because people change so often.
