Oven chips half empty box - surely that's not right?

Bought a 4-pack of microwave oven chips to see if the kids like it and every single box was half-empty. My son tells me that's how they all are. I felt so ripped off Angry because I bought them thinking each box would be full of chips. Should I complain?

(and before you think it I can and do cook proper meals every day, but sometimes need a break, so I'm not a completely atrocious parent)

Micro chips are a con.

RobotBananas · 19/07/2013 15:57

That's what they're like, because they need to be spread out to microwave properly.

HerculePoirotsTache · 19/07/2013 15:59

The boxes are always half empty. It's such a waste of time buying them. I've never heard of them spreading out before, not in my experience!

Oops re-read that. Perhaps they need to put more chips in and a better designed box for the microwaving

Yes, I suppose that makes sense. I'll just have to get over that "I've been robbed" feeling and never buy them again.

I've never bought microchips, but most things are sold by weight so you can only complain if it's significantly less than the stated weight. I do agree that box sizes can be misleading and wasteful.

Buy the ones called fries to go next time, each of the chips is in it's own little tray so they go all nice and crispy and it's a decent portion per box (or it used to be anyway, not bought them for a while).
