And then say sorry did I wake you up?!

Seriously, if you think its late enough for the person you're phoning to be asleep, then DON'T PHONE THEM!!!

( I'm talking to you FIL!)

Boo

Don't answer it then. Either pull the jack from the wall or get an ansaphone and let that deal with it. They'll soon learn.

squeakytoy · 18/07/2013 22:06

depends on the reason they rang.. I wouldnt be bothered by anyone ringing me up until 10pm at night..

ParsleyTheLioness · 18/07/2013 22:07

Anyone who phones after 2100 gets short shrift. Family know that its got to be really important. I need my sleep!

Awakeagain · 18/07/2013 22:07

Are you me?
My nan is always the one who rings late! She used to ring when we sorting ds out for bed so she rings later now

iliketea · 18/07/2013 22:11

YANBU - I always think if someone calls much past 10pm it's never a good reason (death or accident).

weirdthing · 18/07/2013 22:11

If anyone rings after 9 I always assume someone has died.

SweetHoneyBeeeeee · 18/07/2013 22:12

DH's bloody mate has just rung Angry We are watching tv together and had to pause it so will now be late to bed cos they'll talk for an hour. Bog off, you're spending the whole weekend together!

cozietoesie · 18/07/2013 22:13

Which is a fair assumption (that or some other disaster) if you have well trained friends and relatives.

thispunderfullife · 18/07/2013 22:18

Totally agree bloody annoying

Yonihadtoask · 18/07/2013 22:21

No one is allowed to telephone here after 9.00pm. I just won't answer the phone.

Yonihadtoask · 18/07/2013 22:21

Sorry missed this bit:

YANBU

BooCanary · 18/07/2013 22:41

I feel compelled to answer the phone. My DM is chronically ill and I always think she's had a turn or a fall. My heart drops, and then it turns out to be fecking FiL!!

My mum always rings after 9 because then I'll have finished putting the kids to bed - they are 21,20 and 16 Hmm

Callmedreckly · 18/07/2013 23:01

Mine shows who is calling on the digital display, I don't pay for a service, its just the type of handset I got.

I still ignore absolutely every call though Grin

ReginaPhilangie · 18/07/2013 23:02

YANBU. I had someone ring my mobile at 10.30pm a few weeks back about a fucking house exchange! I mean come on, it's bad enough ringing someone you know at that time of night. But ringing a stranger at 10.30 at night to talk about a house exchange, WTF?

SupermansBigRedPants · 18/07/2013 23:04

Df's family always phone late Angry and for ages too grr. After 9pm you shouldn't be phoning house phones.

My mother calls my mobile at 9/10/11 o clock at night and wonders why I don't answer/get shirty with her. It is nearly always because she has had a row with her stupid boyfriend Angry bad as it sounds I just don't care! I've enough worries of my own without her petty arguments - they are both late 40's and immature idiots I don't know anyone else who acts the way they do.

MrsOakenshield · 18/07/2013 23:07

personally I hate early in the morning at the weekend. I have had 2 very devasting pieces of news delivered to me by phone at that time, and still, 10 years later, jump if the phone rings at 8 on a Saturday.

The only person I would ring after 9 is my mum, and that's because I know she always, without fail, watches the 10 o'clock news.

Pigsmummy · 18/07/2013 23:07

My sister has screamed at me for calling her at 8pm and 930pm, both times quoting 15 minutes ahead as she sets her clocks fast. I no longer call her, at all.

MrsOakenshield · 18/07/2013 23:07

*devastating
