When she has bites on her ankles and under her foot that are slowly swelling up!! She's very emotional because they're itchy and weeping!!!

Take her to the doctor. Yanbu. Mosquito bites are shit.

Tittypulumpcious · 16/07/2013 20:37

Keep her off if she's uncomfortable, being hot and sweaty at sports day won't help, hope she feels better soon Smile

PuppyMonkey · 16/07/2013 20:37

Sports days in this weather? Grim.Sad

BoysAreLikeDogs · 16/07/2013 20:37

Any redness, flueyness/fever appears, off you go to get medical advice.

Ezio · 16/07/2013 20:39

Agreed Puppy, DD had her sports day, it was evil.

I'd get her checked out OP, i have a bite on my thigh the size of a 50 pence piece, its horrid.

ivykaty44 · 16/07/2013 20:41

I have a few bites but one on my ankle last wednesday made my foot into elephant foot and I could hardly put my foot to the floor to walk. I have taken anti his but it took a while to work and only Monday did the swelling go down and stay down, it is now just a little swollen around the bones.

So if she has nasty bites then I really do sympathies with her and if I cancelled 3 gym classes then if I was in your shoes wouldn't send myself to sports day and I lovel sports

sittinginthesun · 16/07/2013 20:49

Something nasty around at moment -DH has two bites on his leg which have swollen up, but thankfully responding to antihistamine. Normally, he needs steroids.

Colleague is on antibiotics for a bite, and her daughter daughter has been at a & e as her leg is so swollen. She is on the maximum dose you can have orally. If it hasn't changed in 24 hours, they want to admit her!

I think you need to get it checked out.

WaitMonkey · 16/07/2013 20:54

Keep her off. Apart from the discomfort of both the bites and the weather, she may feel funny if people see the bites. I remember being mortified at a similar age with bites and insisting on wearing tights at the height of summer.
