to feel miserable about this lovely weather?

Having a little pity party here, and a bit of a sob to myself.

Fed up. Seems like everyone else is sailing around in tiny shirts and planning balmy evenings in bars drinking cocktails. Whereas I'm 37 + 3, huge, hot, fed up of stop-start contractions and stuck at home alone.

I want to be wearing tiny little summer crop tops and planning my nights out.

Boo hoo! Confused

It's not much fun with a small, hot and bothered, constantly feeding baby either!

sheeplikessleep · 16/07/2013 16:16

Same here, I'm 34 weeks on Thursday and so uncomfy. I'm spending my days sat in front of a fan and trying to creatively think where I can take DS1 and DS2 in the summer holidays that is somewhere, indoors and air conditioned that doesn't require too much physical effort from me.

chickabilla · 16/07/2013 16:17

Oops posted too soon, meant to say you have my sympathy! Buckets of ice water for your feet were great when I was pregnant in the hwatwave 7 years ago

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 16/07/2013 16:21

chickabilla- snap! I had DS1 during the 06 heatwave. The maternity ward had all the radiators on even though it was 35C outside. DS did NOT stop BFing round the clock. He was so thirsty. Exhausting.

OP YANBU- you have all my sympathy.

snickersnacker · 16/07/2013 16:23

YANBU: I'm 36+6 and genuinely miserable. Solidarity.

Thyeternalsummer · 16/07/2013 16:27

Thanks guys Grin Being a twat sitting here sobbing, but figure that's allowed because I'm hormonal!!

DP not helping..talking about a 'nice meal' for my 30th at the end of the end month if I'm still pregnant. I don't want a 'nice meal' - I want to drink mojitos and dance on the table in my pants actually Wink Wine

I'm due in sept and have had a couple of cries about the hot weather today. It's horrid!

MitMopse · 16/07/2013 20:28

Yup I'm also bf a tiny, cross, hot n bothered baby all day and not actually feeling the sun on my face because trapped on the sofa. Also sick of everyone saying how lovely it must be to be off work with new baby in lovely weather! Er no, not really poor bambino is hating it and I'm missing it! Whine...

NotEnoughTime · 16/07/2013 20:31

I hate this weather too-am desperate for some rain.

I feel really uncomfortable, sticky, hot and bothered and Im not even pregnant just fat

minouminou · 16/07/2013 20:56

I'm over on the other hot weather haters thread....come over, ladies.

I had DS in 2006 as well, in October. I'd just got over the hyperemesis when the temperature soared. That summer was a total endurance test....never known anything like it.

LimitedEditionLady · 16/07/2013 22:42

Im not pregnant but i absolutely hate it.Must be crap being pregnant in this heat.I dont get how people want to be out in this heat either?

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 16/07/2013 22:52

I'm only 26+3 but work in a very formal environment in which a dark suit, complete with jacket, proper shoes and tights, is compulsory and air conditioning is rare. I am melting.

I remember being hugely pregnant in a heat wave and it's no fun at all. Do as little as possible, feet in cool water, get some great books and a straw hat.

It's all you can do.

YANBU to be miserable. I'm not pregnant and I'm miserable as sin, I just cannot take the heat, I need my lovely drizzle and cool breezes!!! I have been dreaming of winter and knitwear all week.

Christelle2207 · 16/07/2013 23:11

Totally get you I'm 37+4 and completely hating it. Just started mat leave and have so much to do too, was up at 6 today to do some housework and spent most of the afternoon with feet in cold bucket of water. What could be even worse though is labouring in it!!!!

Fairdene · 16/07/2013 23:13

I was pregnant with one of my children in one of the hottest places on earth. Feet in cold water is a great cooler. Ice in everything. Cold baths. Running your wrists under cold water for an instant cool is good too.

Fairdene · 16/07/2013 23:15

Labour is fine in this heat if you're labouring in hospital: lovely and cool!

McGeeDiNozzo · 17/07/2013 04:25

Not good with a tiny baby. Baking hot! Gurh!

nowwhat · 17/07/2013 04:47

My six week old is very grumpy, he's only happy when he's in the bath and soon gets fed up again after. I also have terrible hayfever, so bad that I cant sleep and feel like vomiting. It's lovely being able to go out for walks but it's a double edged sword!

TangfasticMrFoxalastic · 17/07/2013 06:38

33 weeks here, grumpy as hell struggling to sleep in the heat, and have a toddler to match

Thyeternalsummer · 17/07/2013 07:38

Well the good news is ....likely to be the driest July in a million schmillion years (NB: perhaps not exact figure). Great Hmm

Bit of a battle here at home - Bedroom fan is playing havoc with DPs sinuses. Wakes up in the morning sounding like Mr Vader. We did 'discuss' the possibility of not having it on at night....think it went along the lines of my saying 'erm...not bloody likely mate!'. Feel a bit guilty now though. He went to work looking shattered this morning. I'm a cow Shock

minesapintofwine · 17/07/2013 07:46

Im not pregnant (you poor thing) but I did look out the window first thing and say 'piss off sun'. So if it rains its my fault, and here's hoping! My weather app does say possibility of a light shower here this afternoon! Not good enough though I want a cracking huge thunderstorm...

Thyeternalsummer · 17/07/2013 07:52

Ooh, thunderstorm! LOVE storms and the air change.

Also have a feeling that storms are likely to bring on labour??? Any truth to this...or is this just some nonsense I've picked up from nowhere?

Norfolknway · 17/07/2013 08:37

I was 41 weeks pregnant on my 30th birthday 2 years ago (middle of summer, mini heatwave the weekend she was born) I had THE most miserable face!

I'm now 25 weeks with DC2 and am not too bad...yet! Blush

NoTeaForMe · 17/07/2013 10:09

I only like this weather when I can lie by a pool with a book in one hand an a drink in the other, whilst listening to my iPod. At the moment I'm stuck with a whining, moaning toddler who's all hot and bothered and a tiny baby feeding all the time and getting both of us hotter and hotter! Not much fun at all!
