Am I being a bit naive?

I am starting a PGDip in September which is full time for a year. I will need a childminder to pick DS (7) up from school maximum of two days a week. I have never used a childminder before. The lady I have in mind seems to tick the boxes: she is local, has a child at the same school, picks up a girl in DS's class (the mum has recommended her), is flexible and I am happy with the cost. I feel happy to go with it but wonder if I am overlooking over things which I need to consider. What other info should I be getting? Should I look elsewhere to make a comparison? I feel I am basing my decision on my friend's recommendation and the lady being nice!

What happens if you're late/DS is ill/ you get the furthest away possible placement school? Um, that's all I can think of!
