To think this is a step too far... (pun intended, foot related)

Very trivial issue warning!

I saw an advert for one of those all singing all dancing foot filing doodads the other day. Can't for the life of me remember which one, I think I may have blocked it out due to the trauma.

They showed the person using it... Fine, gross but fine.

They then showed a person running a piece of cotton wool up an unfiled foot, showing it catching on all the pieces of skin. I nearly hurled. They then showed the comparison to a filed foot, no catching on skin.

Aibu to think this is beyond disgusting?? There is something about the cotton wool getting caught like that that completely turned my stomach.

Not as bad, but still pretty gross is the other one where they feel the need to file the feet over a black surface do you can see all the flaky dead skin coming off.

Is it really necessary!? Is it not enough to say, "Use this product and have lovely soft feet!"???

YANBU. The thought of the cotton wool catching on hard skin makes me feel all icky. That bothers me more than seeing filed-off skin, actually.

Read title as 'food related' and as I was eating my lunch thought it was safe...

Feet are gross. Filing them doesn't make them less gross. The marketing people of that product are fighting a losing battle...

Lisa - so sorry!! I was eating dinner when I saw the advert... I wouldn't do that to another person!!

Urgh but not as gross as a uni housemates girlfriend taking up the whole (and only sofa) and lying there picking the dead skin off her feet and leaving it dropped on the floor while we were sat on plastic chairs eating our dinner :(

HeffalumpTheFlump · 12/07/2013 13:22

Maddening - No... Please tell me you are just lying for attention?!

no this is true - and she would take over the tv too - we had one sofa and a one seater then any one else was on a plastic chair (5 flatmates) and she lay across the sofa and picked her feet - it was carpet too - I had to Hoover it up when flatmate got home and they went to his room - grim
