I'd look at the bootcamp threads but my fancykindle won't let me find it.

3 weeks til my holiday.

3 Weeks to shed 5 stone (I may have left it a bit late).

So..... low-carb?

The basics for a 3 week plan please.

[Thanks]

Pick one breakfast -

Eggs, bacon, low carb sausages (Asda finest, black farmer etc), ham & cheese slices, leftovers from dinner, greek yog (full fat from Lidl, big tub) or a low carb protein shake if you are pushed for time. I use holland & barrett whey protein powder & warm water & a slosh of cream.

Lunches -

Salad with your choice of boiled eggs, cheese, olives, ham, chicken, prawns, sliced beef, homemade coleslaw, or a low carb soup, or meat/veg.

Dinner -

Loads of recipes in the bootcamp recipe thread! This week I have had ...

Steak with courgettes & mushrooms in butter & garlic cream
Pork chops with mashed buttery swede
Chicken coconut curry (no rice, I had a cucumber/tomato salad with it)
Roast dinner - roast chicken with skin, celeriac fondant, buttered carrots & broccoli
Lamb with creamed spinach
Chinese Beef & broccoli & peppers

Ha ha, hmm, a fish and meat free low carb diet. Should be simple enough.

Scrambled eggs for breakfast

Fried eggs for lunch

Omelette for dinner

Repeat x 7 for three weeks. Simple

No bread, rice, pasta, fruit, potatoes or sugar.

If you are being really strict, no alcohol either.

Focus on meals based around protein, fattier cuts of meat/fish wherever possible, and accompany with low carb veg.

Eggs are a perfect source of protein.

Salad is ideal - with an oily dressing and/or mayonnaise.

Other low carb veg - cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, celery, mushrooms, watercress, asparagus, fennel, courgettes.

Fry them in butter/put dollops of butter on them when serving.

Cut out dairy (butter is still allowed) if you can - if you can't, then at least keep it to a minimum. So keep the cream/yoghurt/cheese to a minimum.

Drink lots of water.

Avoid artificial sweeteners.

Good luck!

Thanks.

Breakfast and lunch doable. Think i'll struggle with dinners. Or repeat lunch?

Ohh just read you dont like meat! Oops, hopefully a veggie low carber will be along shortly.

I forgot snacks (though after a few days, you just dont feel hungry for snacks anymore)

Handful nuts (I like salted almonds)
Ham slices
Babybel cheese
Pepperami
Boiled egg
Cold sausages
Cucumber sticks with sour cream chive dip
Celery stick with pate or peanut butter
Pork scratchings
Cheese shortbread (recipe in low carb section)

BIWI · 08/07/2013 09:01

And low carbing isn't a crash diet. Nor is it a fad! But you won't lose 5 stone in three weeks either Grin

BlackAffronted · 08/07/2013 09:03

Hearty veg stews, or veg gratin etc for dinner?

BlackAffronted · 08/07/2013 09:03

You can lose 2 stone in 10 weeks though

BIWI · 08/07/2013 09:04

What kind of meat do you like, btw?

BlackAffronted · 08/07/2013 09:22

Yep, in the January bootcamp :)

mrsfiddymont · 08/07/2013 09:24

I am beyond Shock, that is incredible!!! Obviously I now need to know exactly how you achieved this Grin.

AtYourCervix · 08/07/2013 10:14

I can do chicken, bacon, sausage (as long as cheap and not too meaty).

Will stock up on yogurt, babybels and lettuce. And eggs.

you don't really mean 5 stone in 3 weeks, do you? Only way to do that is by amputation.

LornieLoola · 08/07/2013 10:38

I've just lost 2 stone in 7 weeks, thanks to Shaun T and Insanity and no cake. If you're strict you can lose a lot, without being silly as well.

mrsfiddymont · 08/07/2013 10:44

Shock well done

mrscog · 08/07/2013 10:52

You could do omelette for dinner. You will probably find you get too hungry if you do salad for lunch and dinner.
