To send them my phone bill and demand they pay it?

This is boring, sorry.

Moved into a rental property in October. Called the LA on numerous occasions to find out the electricity supplier and they never got back to us, PFB was born so it kind of fell by the wayside for a couple of months.

Eventually I ended up opening a letter addressed to the landlord (it just said 'the landlord', not his name) in the vain hope it would be from the electricity supplier and it was. It was for £400, which for a couple of months for 2 people with GCH and a gas cooker seemed a bit steep.

I called them and explained my difficulties, they were very helpful and said they would send a revised estimate. That arrives and it is £1,900. Hmm

I send them 10 different emails. No reply.

Called them again, they acknowledge the mistake. Ask for a meter reading, which I give. They tell me to call back in 2 weeks with another one. I do that.

Bill doesn't arrive. I call them again, they have no record of the previous calls and I have to do the whole. Loody thing again.

Everytime I call them I am on hold for at least 10 minutes, usually about 18 though. It has cost me £46 so far as even their supposed 'landline' number charges a bomb and I don't have a landline myself.

WIBU to expect them to pay these charges, or is it just one of those things?

Since it is their cockup, yes do ask.

In the meantime, always check this website for a geographical number that will fall into your inclusive minutes.
