...accepted party invite from 12-2 today saying "aren't I brave, I also have a party at 3-5pm at same venue"

And I replied "yes, definitely brave, don't worry, I will do food myself so your two don't have to eat 'generic venue party food' for two meals in a row, thanks for making the effort"

And who replied "Thanks"

And I replied "don't feel you have to get there on time, it's going to be a mental day. Come a bit late."

And who replied "great, thanks, will do"

And then who DIDN'T TURN UP AT ALL, NO APOLOGY, NO TEXT.

This is the third time she has accepted a party invite (her two children same age as my two children, so over the course of 3 birthdays) in 18 months and then been a no-show.

Luckily (!!!) three children showed up who had not replied at all, so the party bags were not wasted...

Ask her why she didn't turn up. If she has a reasonable reason, let it go. If it's clear she just couldn't be bothered, point out to her that you paid x amount for her two children's places and it would have been polite for her to have let you know if they were not going to be there. Don't get cross, just explain it concisely, then leave it.

Maybe next time she will at least text if they are not able to attend an event. You probably won't know because i doubt you will want to invite them anywhere again!!
