Gah! Noise!

The pub in our sleepy little hamlet is having a private party. The music is seriously loud and people are obviously outside, it's a nice night.

The music is really getting to me. I've been trying to sleep for nearly an hour, will be woken up by DD2 in about an hour hour and a half for her next feed, and I'm getting more and more wound up.

Obviously there's nothing I can do, so please tell me IABU and need to calm down (I wouldn't mind so much but they're not even playing good music. Also Im not getting much sleep at the best if times so can't stop thinking about how extra-shit I'm going to look tomorrow).

Earplugs? Closed all the windows?

Marcheline · 29/06/2013 23:33

All windows closed, yes. We dint have any earplugs, though I would pay good money for some. They have just followed 'baggy trousers' with the ghostbusters theme tune.

yanbu - they should keep their Windows and doors shut to ensure they don't disturb others - noise travels at night.

I suggest white noise - put a couple of fans on - extractor fan and washing machine maybe? And if you have options move to a room furthest away from them.

Quies earplugs (wax not foam) are reslly good and I have really small, sensitive ear canals. They get me through night duties. Get some in to have for next time. Not sure how that works with having to listen out for crying baby though.... hmm, maybe not that helpful, soz.

Marcheline · 29/06/2013 23:45

I cosleep so not really a problem listening out for the baby Grin

The pub is usually really quiet. They've only just started opening all day on Saturday and Sunday as would normally open for lunch, shut for the afternoon and then open again for dinner. They always shut at 11pm

Music still going strong. Would itbe really unreasonable to get DH to go and ask them to reign it in a bit?
