to feel a bit fed up with always being the bad guy?

Now I know I'm lucky to be able to spend so much time at home with my dc but the constant cry of 'I want Daddy' from my 3yo is ever so slightly draining. My dh is a wonderful dad but seems to have acquired magical heroic status purely by not being here for the tears, tantrums and drudgery all day (sorry bad day!). He is about to arrive home to a heroes welcome and I just feel a bit irrationally .

So aibu and does anyone else feel the same?

Yes, I've felt the same! It's normal.

I have the opposite,im at home with my boy most but he does not want daddy because he is with me all the time so daddy feels left out.OH feels awful like he isnt wanted.I dont kniw which is worse!

We have same issue as limited. I'm knackered. Dad is sad. Toddler will not have anything done by him! Argh!!!!!

In the 'olden days', when we were children, it was always the dad who did the disciplining. My poor DM who used to sometimes be at the end of her tether with my DB organising exciting things for us 3 to do in the house < usually meant tipping up settee and arm chair to play chase the tiger and using the wardrobe door opened to wall to chuck all the bedding behind it so one of us could eventually stand on it to look over the top etc>. I remember her words said so often " Wait till your dad gets home!"

It is always me she calls out for in the night or when she hurts herself but otherwise it's 'daddy daddy daddy'. Mind you I know he is envious of how much more time I get to spend with them so I guess the grass is always greener

You're staff, Daddy is entertainment. Don't worry, it's normal, they soon grow out of ut.

LOL - yep, we have that too. Let Daddy be the hero - while they're jumping into his arms after his hard day of work, take yourself off for a nice bath :)

That's why I went back to work so I get a heroes welcome too but sadly dhs welcome is still akin to a full cheerleaders routine!

I work a couple of days too and was hoping the tables migh be turned on those days. Sadly not. I've even been greeted warmly with 'why hasn't daddy come to pick me up'. I give up!

YANBU, seriously OP I could have written that! It is ridiculously obvious to everyone how much more my DS prefers his dad, it is so draining!

I'm a second best mum to one of my DS, and very much best to the other fairs fair I think!!

I wish my boy wanted daddy a bit more,i need daddy to take him out and do more with him so i have a bit of time to get jobs done not at ten oclock at night when im knackered!I think I'd melt a bit if I saw him running to daddy x

Huh, I took my 3 to the school fete this evening. Daddy went to the pub. Then DS threw a strop because we forgot to buy biscuits from the cake stall to take home for Daddy. Who is still in the pub now, might I add...
