Deputy head road rage

Mandapanda71 · 28/06/2013 12:31

I was in the car and called the other driver who would not go up on the kerb a stupid cow, with full on evil eyes. My dh said that's the deputy head of daughters school. Oh bugger. Thinking of ignoring it or should I apologise? I reversed in the end, as she had sped down the road 200 yards to make me reverse etc

Why should she go up on the curb, do you know how much damage this does to your car.

YABU

Greenkit · 28/06/2013 12:34

or Kerb even!

ivykaty44 · 28/06/2013 12:34

cars are like facebook and fruit shoots Wink

echt · 28/06/2013 12:35

I'm confused about the last bit, but as she's a teacher and has long holidays, I'd say YANBU.:o

WorraLiberty · 28/06/2013 12:37

What is it about sitting behind the wheel of a car, that makes people act like utter cunt clumps?

If she had been in your way when you were trying to get through a shop doorway for example, would you have given her 'full on evil eyes' and called her a stupid cow?

Or would you just have said excuse me please?

clarinetV2 · 28/06/2013 12:38

I gather the issue isn't which one of you was in the right about the incident itself, but you calling her a stupid cow. How well do you know her? If it's a casual conversation in which you can both have a bit of a laugh about driving and road rage, then fine. If not, I'd just leave it. It's probably not a big deal to her, and if you don't know her particularly well it could be an embarrassing conversation - she may well just want to forget it.

GreenShadow · 28/06/2013 12:39

It is illegal to drive on the pavement.

WorraLiberty · 28/06/2013 12:42

That depends on where you are GreenShadow

Where I live, you're supposed to park on the pavements and there are white bays marked out on them.

burberryqueen · 28/06/2013 12:43

so you had road rage and have problems with reversing?
should you be driving?

GreenShadow · 28/06/2013 13:12

Maybe Worra if it is designed like yours, but under normal circumstances it is not only illegal, but antisocial too.

Highway Code -
You MUST NOT drive on or over a pavement, footpath or bridleway except to gain lawful access to property, or in the case of an emergency.
Laws HA 1835 sect 72 & RTA 1988 sect 34

Fakebook · 28/06/2013 13:18

Her being the Deputy Head is irrelevant. You're both shit drivers. You should have anticipated how fast she was coming down the road and pulled over.

WorraLiberty · 28/06/2013 13:20

Yeah it's kind of a necessity here because the roads are so narrow (built for horses and carts)

But having said that, they're made of tarmac and don't have high kerbs.

Pendeen · 28/06/2013 15:25

It's not unreasonable to expect you to apologise for calling someone "a stupid cow"

aldiwhore · 28/06/2013 16:17

I flicked the V's at the headteacher before now. I was actually trying to WAVE but my hand signals got confused in the moment.

YABU mandapanda if she'd pulled out on you, or done something STUPID then I'd be with you all the way, but as all she did was not mount the Kerb and you had to reverse therefore you're an angry cow Wink

If it were me who'd been unreasonable I'd say sorry and explain I was in an awful mood and that I was out of order.
