To want to throttle DH

lurkedtoolong · 27/06/2013 18:41

I know I am BU (a bit) but suffering a horrible headache and just need to rant. Just answered phone to MIL who starts to talk to me about visiting on Sunday and staying til Monday. I don't mind the visit, get on ok with PIL and would never say that they couldn't stay. I'm just pissed off that DH has these conversations with him parents about them visiting and doesn't bother to let me know so I know nothing about it when MIL calls.

Am out all day tomorrow and Saturday so have to try to prepare everything tonight and in the little time I have free over the next couple of days. DH is working Monday so I'll be left to organise something for then. Am thoroughly, and probably unreasonably, pissed off that I'm the last to know and have sent DH a snippy email.

YANBU to be pissed off.

YABU to "prepare" and "organise" everything. Having said that, I would probably do the same tbh. Get DH to get his finger out tonight if he was the one who made the arrangements.

Have some Wine. It won't get the house any tidier, but you'll care less!

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 27/06/2013 18:48

YANBU

You should have said 'Sorry - DH didn't mention it and now I have other plans. He really is a one for making these arrangements and not telling me!!'

Don't enable him.

Nagoo · 27/06/2013 18:49

I'd have said it was gone to come but since dh hadn't said she'd be at dh's mercy when it came to dinner and beds made etc!

TigOldBitties · 27/06/2013 18:53

I would get DH to do most of the prep and order a takeaway for tea on Sunday.

You're much more polite than me, sending a snippy email. I often send DH emails entitled with various versions of what the fucking fuck you irritating fuck.

My voicemails aren't that cheerful either.

I wouldn't throttle him, but I might exact my revenge in some other way such as deleting all is recordings from the TV Blush

LTB? Grin

lurkedtoolong · 27/06/2013 18:58

Just had a very apologetic grovelling phone call from DH. He didn't tell me because when he suggested to his mum they come for the night (as visiting BIL who lives half way between them and us) she said they wouldn't come because they couldn't leave the garden for three days Hmm

Not going to LTB this time, but might tell him who got fired on The Apprentice before he watches the programme.

YANBU
chipping puts it well, that's what I would've done.

but if you agreed already I would leave him to prep and organize everything too.

dreamingbohemian · 27/06/2013 19:00

Don't spoil the TV show, just make him do the prep!

tinkertitonk · 27/06/2013 20:20

Goodness woman, they're leaving their garden to visit you.

Be grateful.
