To take my baby for her immunisations even though

We don't have an appointment?

Dd is 13wo. She had her first lot of jabs at 9 weeks (date that was booked for her) I know 4 weeks later they should have their second lot which are due today. We did not recieve an appointment card so I rang the doctors. The receptionist asked if it had been 4 weeks and when I said yes I was told to bring her in anytime between the times they do the jabs.

I have just had the appointment card through and they have booked it for 11th July! Surely if I can take her in today, why was an app not booked for her for today?

6 weeks between immunisations is not a massive deal I know, but if she can have it at the correct time, which she can, why not book them properly!

So WIBU to still claim we've not had an app so she can have her jabs at the correct time and then ring up next week to cancel the app I've been sent?

It might be worth dropping in and see if she can be done today. But perhaps you have a later appointment because all the bookable slots at today's clinic are full. What the receptionist said does suggest there are drop-in slots too, so you might be lucky.

Just turn up, say you have had no appointment sent, and that this was what you were advised to do when you called.

Surely it depends whether the practice nurse/HV has appointments for imms today?
or do they do a drop in clinic?

Don't panic about her not having them at the exact time...ds3's have been put off for weeks now and I think they are still fine for him to have whenever we can manage it.

(he's been ill, or other things have been going on etc)

I'd just turn up. My hv told me to do that if an appointment didn't arrive for ds' s second set of jabs.
