As part of my parents' Christmas present I bought them tickets to see Robbie Williams in concert - my sister and I were going to go too, take them for dinner, have a really nice evening
Spoke to DM yesterday and she announced that she and DD were off on holiday - hadn't remembered about the concert despite me putting it in their calendars - and said that she was sure I wouldn't have any problems getting rid of the tickets - no offer of helping to list them on websites or anything - just left it to me. So, now I'm left with 4 tickets (neither sis nor I are that bothered about going without them) and £300 of tickets potentially going to waste ......and I haven't even had a sorry from them - AIBU unreasonable to expect at least some form of apology? And that they should be helping to sell the tickets?
Not the best Monday - sorry, rant over

Yanbu!!!

How bloody ungracious! FFS!

Justforlaughs · 24/06/2013 19:40

YANBU, but you can just send them to me, if you don't want them! Grin

BlackholesAndRevelations · 24/06/2013 19:40

Wow they are definitely BU. How rude Sad

WorraLiberty · 24/06/2013 19:40

YANBU

How bloody ungrateful Sad

CaterpillarCara · 24/06/2013 19:42

A pair of socks for them to share next Christmas, I think. How rude!

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 24/06/2013 19:44

Erm well. YAnbu to be very pissed off but to be fair they were a gift so if your folks want to waste them it's their business. You sell them so you get the money back. If they expected another gift or any of the cash they would be royally taking the piss but as it is they are just being very ungrateful. Sell the tickets (at a profit would be nice) and enjoy the windfall.

lotsofcheese · 24/06/2013 19:46

YANBU! Why not list the tickets yourself on eBay & buy yourself something nice with the proceeds?

AmyFarrahFowlerCooper · 24/06/2013 19:48

YABU. Think of the profit! £££££££££

Hullygully · 24/06/2013 19:50

very very rude

Blondie1984 · 24/06/2013 19:54

i wish it was that easy - i listed them yesterday on 3 different sites - put about them on FB - and no takers......so doesn't look like there is going to a profit to spend :(
I just feel gutted that that much money - the equivalent of 6 weeks of food shopping is going to waste - definitely socks (or coal) for them next year
If anyone knows of anyone who might want them then please point them in my direction - i will be the one with my head in the oven

Bummer, it does seem a touch ungrateful.
Have you tried twitter? my friend sold some last minute face value via twitter for the stone roses gig. I am a technophobe so have no idea how this works but maybe trying to work out if it means you can get some money back.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 24/06/2013 20:02

Can you not sell them back to the box office? 1 day on eBay does not mean failure.

Sarah1611 · 24/06/2013 20:03

Poor you! That's really out of order!

Blondie1984 · 24/06/2013 20:03

Thanks rocketupbum - i'm no techno expert either - but will see if i can figure that out

When is it? I've always found tickets sell for crazy prices about two weeks before. I had to miss two when I was pregnant and paid £60 for a pair and sold for £150 and paid £50 for the other pair and sold for £120. Paid for half my pram Grin

cleoowen · 24/06/2013 20:04

Where and when and how much? I might be interested in two of them. Surprised not sold on Ebay.

wonderingsoul · 24/06/2013 20:07

ynbu.

id be very upset tbf.

try ebay. when are hte concert dates? how far away?

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 24/06/2013 20:08

Very ungrateful.

What date's the concert? In the past I have bought tickets as late as the day of the concert and picked them up from the sellers house on route so don't despair just yet.

ballroomblitz · 24/06/2013 20:11

Have you tried Gumtree?

Blondie1984 · 24/06/2013 20:14

It's on the 2nd July - so next Tuesday - hence why i'm so nervous

And, as I discovered today, you can't sell tickets on ebay anymore - you have to use their partner site Stubhub which isn't great....

cleoowen - they cost me £71.50 each but the face value is £65 - and would happily accept that

Blondie1984 · 24/06/2013 20:14

Yep they are on Gumtree

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 24/06/2013 20:15

Tried Seatwave?

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 24/06/2013 20:16

And Getmein? Viagogo is another option.

Blondie1984 · 24/06/2013 20:18

Yep done seatwave and viagogo

I've sold the day before a concert on gumtree after being on a week. I agree people impulse buy tickets the day before/that day. Good luck
