I had an op on Thursday under general anaesthic and still feel sick, tired stinking headache. Is this normal or am I a wimp? I stopped taking the painkillers as they were making me feel worse and kind of 'not there'.

It's only Monday, give yourself a bit of time x

When did you stop taking the painkillers? I don't recover we'll from anaesthetics either, but taking strong painkillers like codeine or tramadol definitely makes me fel crappy for longer.

I'm a full 7 days on and still feel like shit with a pounding head on and off and needing to sleep frequently. Don't forget you've got the anaesthetic and the actual procedure to recover from. Sadly impatience doesn't seem to help the healing to come any quicker.

Hi and thank you. I took the last co-coda mol at lunch time yesterday. I need to find something to ease the pain but think I prefer the discomfort to the weird feelings and very strange dreams. I'll take it easy today and not feel guilty for lazing around ( on mn) x

Switch to paracetamol and ibuprofen if you can take those - effective and make you feel far less trippy! Hope you feel better soon x

Don't feel guilty (though I am finding it hard not to) just lots and lots of rest and make sure you take whichever painkillers you decide to use on a regular schedule.
