To be annoyed at my supervisor.

She does nothing. Literally. She doesn't help with residents. She doesn't help when you call for assistance with residents. She doesn't help with meals. God forbid if she ever needs to change a pad of theirs. She walked into a residents room, saw a dirty pad, walked out and told me to go into that room and pick it up. She could have taken it. She does nothing but pick. She makes it well aware to others what our roles are, even telling a resident today that it wasn't her job to get fresh towels or make beds. That's part of my job. Would it honestly harm her to help? If you ask her to help with someone she sends you off to find another staff member to ask. God knows why she became supervisor.

I think I can actually beat that. I used to work with a nurse who, when doing the medicine round, would ring the residents bell and wait in the room to tell whichever one of her minions us arrived that the person needed their pillows adjusting. It wasn't a time thing, after all she stood there waiting, it was a power thing.

Oh and YANBU!

From what you have described OP, I would agree that this is a power thing. Your supervisor behaves in this way because she can and she enjoys it I would say.

Ooh mamma you beat me! She'd gain respect from staff by helping!
