DC belongs to a dance school. Next weekend instead of lessons there's going to be a photoshoot to be used in promotional material for the school.

Lessons are paid by a monthly DD in a sort of package deal idea (kind of like gym membership) so basically you pay for minimum amount of lessons and if you can't make it to all the lessons that week you just lose out. Fair enough.

Thus week though all of the lessons we've paid for will be taken up by this shoot ( we can only go on a Saturday morning and use our quota up)

So, DC will not be getting normal paid for instruction and the business gets free models.

AIBU to be a bit Hmm that we haven't even been offered a discount this month ire additional lessons to make up for the lost lessons. To me it seems a bit presumptuous of the owners, especially since they're getting free models.

That's not fair, i'd be having words.

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 22/06/2013 11:55

I would expect them to do the photo shoot outside of normal dance session hours, so no you are not being unreasonable.
I would be having a chat with them and ask for a reduction in your bill or a free session.

EuphemiaLennox · 22/06/2013 11:59

It wouldn't occur to me as an issue.

Im sure all children want to be in the photo shoot, it will involve dancing while photos taken and is a one off?

Im going for mean spirited.

Unless you get a free print of your dd dancing then this should be free as you are effectively doing them a favour providing models for their photo shoot let alone paying them for it!

Suppose it depends how old your dd is and whether she voes for fun or for specific instruction.
