Recently one half of a couple, very close friends to me, achieved a major professional milestone.
It has been anounced to friends and family, and we are all immensely pleased and proud.
Unfortunately, a lot of the comments have been of the olk of "brilliant- bet yiu are going to name the day, now" and "oh, you'll be getting The Ring soon".
Firstly, AIBU to think this is incredibly thoughtless and slightly dismissive, to make reference to otger, future, potential events on the achievement on one event?
And, secondly, AIBU to be saddened that in this DayAndAge it appears that Wedding Bells still seems to be perceived as the most significant thing someone can announce?
Double AIBU, huh? My Friday evening present for you.
