So I get home this morning and find a note through my door saying they tried to deliver my shopping at 10.25. So quickly checked my emails for confirmation of order thinking did I put 10-11? Surely not as I knew I would be out.
No def 4-5 So I phoned them up and was told they tried to contact me at 8.30 last night to tell me no later slots would be done due to driver training. No message on my phone.
Now I have to go out in the drizzle to the expensive corner shop to buy stuff we have run out of,milk, juice ect.
They are going to send me a £5 goodwill voucher but I am not happy!

YANBU. They should have tried harder to contact you!! If they offer one hr slots, they shouldn't expect you to be in all day (different in the 4hr/8hr type slots). I guess £5 is better than nothing though.

BeauNidle · 20/06/2013 12:44

YANBU - they should not have let you book a slot which they then decided not to honour. It is not due to heavy snow or anything, but driver training? Driver training should be dealt with AFTER a customer has booked an order. Not good enough to give you £5. Surely they could have rung the driver to swing back round your way, after all, he has your shopping in his van right now!

BeauNidle · 20/06/2013 12:45

Do you have a car, I would ask where the driver is and catch up with him, get your stuff and expect the delivery fee to be waivered.

I've had three 'non-delivery' incidents with Tesco... Each time it happened I rang up and complained and got £10 voucher. On one of the occasions I was a couple of weeks post C-section so I was rather 'firm' with them about compensating me because the inconvenience caused.

digerd · 20/06/2013 12:54

I had 2 items that I hadn't noticed the delivery date on and they were out of date. This happened a 2nd time, but all I got was a refund - no goodwill voucher for £5 Confused.
But your case was much worse as you got none of your delivery.
I have heard that Tesco is a bit stingy with their 'compensation' for their mistakes. YANBU.

Tesco are being twattish with their deliveries, most of the time theyre an hour late and they dont bother to inform us.

SilverOldie · 20/06/2013 14:25

Tesco deliveries have always been great for me and within the two hours. Last week I got a call to say that the van had broken down and my delivery would be late which was no problem. When the driver arrived he told me that he delivered my food in his own car. I call that good service.
