Since this is clearly what the school thinks!
Sports days should have been last week, ks1 on Weds and ks2 on Thurs. (I have 1 kid in each) Clearly weather dependant, and since it rained they were cancelled. It's very difficult getting cover for my job since I don't want to arrange cover, lose £50 and then have to do it again when it actually happens, makes the whole thing very expensive. But obvs rain's hard to account for.
So then they said ks1 would be on Fri, ks2 would be confirmed at a later date, sent by text, but then at the end of thurs sent home a letter to say they'd do both at the same time. Which seemed odd since they both said 9.15, but I figured either one after another or on opposite sides of the field.
So I managed to get cover. Quite chuffed actually since it co-incided with my MOT so thought I'd be able to get the whole lot out of the way while I was off work anyway (delivery driver).
So we all turned up for sports day to be told, actually they've decided it's too much at once so they'll only do ks1. Doesn't greatly affect me, but people with kids only in ks2 are very annoyed. Presumably they've taken time off work too.
So monday I asked when ks2 was likely to be. No-one knew but said they were really busy for a few weeks so would save it till near the end of term. OK, fair enough. So why the hell have I got a letter this afternoon to say it's tomorrow at 9.25? Because that's clearly loads of notice isn't it? It's far too late to organise anything now. And after 3 dry days, tomorrow is forecast rain anyway, so should I even try?
