to admit how much I love MN...

I have been feeling really low lately and have spent rather too much time on MN, seeking reassurance that I am not a complete freak. As well as trying to cheer myself up with a bit of humour.

Tonight I have been reading past posts on a variety of subjects and have fallen about laughing on several occasions. I particularly enjoyed a thread about chin hair.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the hilarious and well written threads (this isn't one of them!) as they have really done the job.

I'm off to check my chin for rogue hairs.

At the risk of sounding too much like the auld gimmer that I am, I think it's amazing.

When I had DS1 19 years ago, there was no internet as such and most people didn't have much of a home computer anyway. Both my parents had died before I got married and I was the first of my friend to have a baby. I'd never so much as changed a nappy before. We moved to an out of the way village (big mistake) and didn't settle so I was very very isolated and afraid of how to deal with the demands of a baby.

Mumsnet would have been such a resource and company/comfort. I would have loved to have been able to just ask stuff and have a variety of responses to pick from.

Auld gimmer thing to say but I'm glad new mums today have the benefit of experienced parents' hindsight on tap.

It's a bit of a hive mind sometimes but that's not always a bad thing.

Also, I was thinking this morning - where else do people from such differing walks of life get to be 'together' in such a way as they do here?
