To wish there were more 'proper' comics available

Prompted by the Beano thread, AIBU to wish that all the lovely old comics that we enjoyed as kids eg Bunty, Judy, Beezer were still available? Nowadays all you can get are comics linked to TV characters and they're not the same Angry.
Also, when I was a kid a free gift with a comic was a big event and only happened a few times a year. Now they all come with cheap plastic toys and you end up paying a ridiculous amount for a child's comic (a lot of them are over five euro here in Ireland). We used to buy a couple with our pocket money every week.
I miss The Four Marys, and all those girls dying to be ballet dancers but their cruel stepmothers wouldn't let them, and the ice skaters being sabotaged by some mean competitor who got her come uppance in the end, and having to wait until next week to read the next instalment and dashing up to the shop the minute you got your pocket money.

AIBU. Well, am I?

Nope, but if you want to revisit those times I suggest you try some manga. Its about the only section of the comics industry that caters for women and girls.

Watchoo want, story wise? I can hook you up. For ballet, try Princess Tutu. For drama, try Happy Mania (and play spot the red flags on the love interests). For ridiculous school antics, Ouran High School Host Club. For horror, Screaming Lessons:

They can all be tried out for free on the linked site, and they really filled a hole for me when I lost Bunty ;_;

Thanks Princess, I'll have a look. That sounds so interesting.
