To want to quit my job

I work full time commuting to London
I spend 250+ on travel and 400 on childminder that leaves me with 1k a month
I leave home at 7 and get back 12 h later meaning I hardly see my DS and also have to share weekends with ex. Am i crazy to look for local part time job? I'm AR it's stressful and demanding and at the same time boring. As we all know part time jobs are hard to come by but I'm thinking even if I have job as receptionist ill spend more time with my DS and financially ill be on the same level as now.Any advice ?

I don't receive tax credits as I didn't want to make joint claim with my DP he contributes to half of the household bills

It sounds awful,I'd quit for sure.

I suspect lots of people are away from their children from 12 hours a day. I am away from mine for 11 hours and that is with no commute and in a family friendly job like teaching.

But if I had to be away from my family for that long for a dull stressful job I would want to quit.

No, you're not crazy to look for a local part time job. Quitting your present one on the off chance would be taking a bit of a chance.

Of course I can't quit without anything else lined up... I'm feeling like I'm sacrificing DSs child hook for nice looking CV because financially I'm not gaining much
