I am a nanny and have had to take this week off to have a minor operation.

Ainu to think a text or call from my employer would be polite

YABU. I imagine they are busy rather than uncaring.

She doesn't know where the school uniform is? Sounds like the sort of person who wouldn't send a Get Well text.

If she was texting you anyway she should have asked.

It hasn't surprised me though, quite often like this, I had a sickness big and only message I got was 'u best be back tomorrow as I need to wotk'

I wouldn't expect any contact from an employer either - none at all, including "where's the uniform". Very unprofessional.

However, mine regularly contacts me on my days off or when he needs something but never when I'm ill.......
