I am a nanny and have had to take this week off to have a minor operation.

Ainu to think a text or call from my employer would be polite

YABU. I imagine they are busy rather than uncaring.

Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2013 12:05

YANBU, a Get Well Soon card even? Your employer isn't Katie Hopkins is she?

SaveWaterDrinkMalibu · 12/06/2013 12:07

She's managed to text me saying that she can't find the school uniform but no how are u or anything

She doesn't know where the school uniform is? Shock Sounds like the sort of person who wouldn't send a Get Well text.

If she was texting you anyway she should have asked. Sad

Jestrin · 12/06/2013 12:08

YANBU. I had the same but I work for a bigger company. Also my 40th birthday was ignored too!

SaveWaterDrinkMalibu · 12/06/2013 12:12

I thought the same Sparkling

It hasn't surprised me though, quite often like this, I had a sickness big and only message I got was 'u best be back tomorrow as I need to wotk'

Oh no Save she sounds horrible. Do you enjoy the job in spite of the uncaring employer?

SaveWaterDrinkMalibu · 12/06/2013 12:13

Enjoy being with children but have a very strained relationship with mum & dad

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2013 12:14

Sad. Anyway how are you after your op Save?

angelos02 · 12/06/2013 12:14

YANBU. She sounds awful. She shouldn't be texting you about work things when you are off too.

SaveWaterDrinkMalibu · 12/06/2013 12:15

Thanks Sparkling

Struggling - stuck in bed today as boyfriend can't be bothered to come round and help me out of bed but that's a different post

Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2013 12:16

Oh no. Well have a Brew and Thanks from me.

holidaysarenice · 12/06/2013 13:38

No I wouldn't expect contact from an employer -how are you/or where's the uniform!

Either could be used as harassment in a complaint!

pantsjustpants · 12/06/2013 13:41

I wouldn't expect any contact from an employer either - none at all, including "where's the uniform". Very unprofessional.

However, mine regularly contacts me on my days off or when he needs something but never when I'm ill.......

manticlimactic · 12/06/2013 15:50

Sounds like you need a new employer and boyfriend.

YouStayClassySanDiego · 12/06/2013 16:00

Get rid of that twatty boyfriend for starters, he's a dickhead.

Any luck looking for another job?
