To be sick of cuddly toys?

My dds share a room and I could honestly scream about the amount of cuddly toys that are in it.

It always looks a mess purely because of the soft toys . You cannot walk because of the toys on the floor. Just looking at it drives me crazy.

I've tried to do a cull, but they want to keep every bleeding one for one reason or another.

AIBU to hate the bloody things?

YANBU I only have a 11 month old ds and the amount he has already is ridiculous, ive just had to inform my mum that for his birthday he would not like another piece of fruit cuddly toy (thanks ikea). Someone even bought him a build a bear when he was first born. He doesnt play with them yet they keep appearing.

Be grateful its cuddly toys and not lego though, nothing hurts more than a random piece of lego stuck in your foot on a lazy sunday morning!

Yadnbu! As much as ikea can be the main contributor to these soft toy collections, their hanging toy basket things are cheap and have solved the problem for us.

YANBU both my kids have far too many. I culled the plastic tat, I will cull the bears!

YANBU I have twice tried to cull, by emptying the 72 sack full (yes, I counted every blasted one) and asking Dd to pick out her favourites. We now have 52 and I am planning to pick them off one by one.

Yanbu. I did a cull when they were at school, just kept back their favourite ones. They haven't noticed, or if they have they haven't said anything!

I hate Cuddly toys, culled 2 bin bags last year when we moved, our collection is getting bigger again so I may have to mount an expedition into DDs bedroom to clear them

MisselthwaiteManor · 11/06/2013 16:33

I hate them already and the baby's not even born yet! MIL keeps telling people to knit stuff for us even though I said please don't! So we've got a load of knitted cuddly toys that I just want to bin, like an ungrateful cow.

Give them a plastic bag each and tell them they can keep what fits into their bag. Then take the others to charity or something and praise your girls for giving up their lovely toys for people who need them etc etc. Make a massive deal about how nice your kids are being to charity.
Might that work?
