This week he seems to be suggesting that we, the Sisterhood, need to be more vocally critical of women who cry rape and the light sentencing they receive. Our alleged 'silence' speaks volumes apparantly.

I cant find anything to disagree with in his article. I think he is right.

I think the accusation that 'The Sisterhood' condones the behaviour of these awful women is abhorrent and totally untrue.

His articles are riddled with anti women sentiment. The one about penis size is ridiculous and as for putting (wholly unnecessary IMO) male circumcision on par with female genital mutilation, give me strength!

two different crimes the only connection is the word rape

it is a terrible terrible thing to lie about and can cause a lot of hurt

if someone is mugged/had their car stolen/house burnt down do we assume they are lying because people have been known to do so to claim money through insurance. an investigation may take place but no assumption is made on their character because this has happened. time and time again when a woman is raped she it que is questioned this is apparently because some women do lie about rape - this is utter crap women are far too often not beleived as blame is still placed on women what they were wearing, how much they were flirting/drinking that they did not make it clear that they did not want sex

Well, I've read that article twice and for the life of me I can't see any references to penis size or FGM!!! Are you sure you read the right article?

FWIW I think he's spot on re the women who falsly accuse of rape for their own ends - I believe any woman who admits a false allegation should get a prison sentence on a par with what a convicted rapist would get.

In this months Glamour there is a brilliant article on rape apologism.

Here are the figures from said article. Over a period when there were 5,651 prosecutions for rape there were 35 prosecutions for making false accusations of rape.
In other words leaving aside all the rapes that are never reported an estimated 89% of them,even leaving aside the rapes for which there is insufficient proof the number of convicted rapists absolutely dwarfs the number of women making untrue claims. For every one woman who "cries rape" 161 men have been convicted of rape in a court of law and a further 1,302 men have committed a rape for which they will never be punished.

Methinks Lloyd has heard about the article Zoe Williams wrote for Glamour and has written his inaccurate guff in retaliation.

The fake sentiment for female rape victims is rather repulsive.

And linking this crime to the "gender sentencing gap" is utterly ludicrous. At no stage does he attempt to back up this claim. Oh yes, he says something about one man who was imprisoned using Facebook. He doesn't mention the thousands of violent male criminals who are given community sentences, some of whom receive multiple community sentences before being jailed. He doesn't mention that a higher proportion of women are in jail for non-violent offences than men. He doesn't offer any credible argument whatsoever. It's tripe.

I'm not sure why the oral cancer article is in the "Femail" section either. Surely it should be in the "Hemail" section?
