Childminding,drugs,abusive partner

I have NC for this.

I have become aware that one of my neighbours is child minding. Child minders are under no obligation to register with any authorities where I live. I know the neighbour and know that she has a previous conviction for sale and supply of drugs. Her partner has a previous conviction for beating up his ex and I have also witnessed him being abusive to my neighbour.
Would you make the parent of the children being minded aware of their convictions or just leave it?

Dont all childminders have to be registered by law so they have right insurance ect.

Not in the country I live in.

Do you know the parents? In which case, yes, I would tell them of my concerns.

If not, then it's a bit trickier. I think you would need to contact an authority about this, but obviously I don't have any idea who that would be where you live.

I don't know the parents. There is a area authority but because child minders being registered is optional there is not a lot they can do. I think its only in cases where there is a sexual offence, they will step in. Child care is very expensive so parents are enticed by cheap rates.

Oh that is tricky. I would talk to the authorities about your concerns, ask them if they will investigate, and if not, are there any other organisations you could contact? Trade unions or professional groups. They might send you in the right direction.
