To wonder if anyone can help with my bra size?

I looked on the Sorrell Bra intervention threads by using search, and someone explained how to measure your boobs but I dont understand what they mean Blush and I can ask on the thread because its full. And I cant ask on the next thread because that was full too.

Ive lost my one and only bra and I need to get a new one (I dont wear bras, I usually wear bikini tops. Very small boobs) and Ive never known my bra size.

Im posting here because the intervention was born here.

Can anyone help please?

hello measure under your breasts around your rib cage to find your band size

ie 30 or whatever. this is very important and gives you a good idea of your back size

measure over your breasts whilst leaning forward.

for every inch difference, that = a cup size.

Thats quite different from the suggestion on the bra intervention thread. But thats probably because I didnt understand what they meant the first time.

Im going off to measure.

ok you need to try about 32E - as brands and models fit differently, also 32F, 30F and FF and thereabouts.

Binkyridesagain · 07/06/2013 09:51

32E. Different brands have slightly different sizes so you'll have to try a few on.
Firstly get the back measurement right, try on a few around the 32 measurement, the band has to fit snugly, fasten at the front and spin it round to the back, if it won't move it's too tight, if it shifts easily then it's too loose. When the band is sorted you move on to getting the cups sorted.

A well fitting cup does not cause boob bulge or gape, the underwires fit snugly against your rib cage, not breast tissue and any back fat or underarm bulge needs to be scooped into the cup, doing this can increase your bust size quite a lot, so make sure you check the cup after scooping.

Thank you. I worked it out as 32d so it shows how correct I was!

Thanks for giving me a starting point.

32 underneath
38 over boobs.

you allow approx 1 inch for a cup size for each of those inches difference.

38 minus 32= 6 inches.
1= A
2= B
3= C
4= D
5=DD
6= E

so you are a 32 rib, and your cup size (think of it just like a cup you could fit your boob into!) is about an E. Try a DD. they will all be slightly different dependening on style, and manufacturer just like with any item of clothing.

True to fit brand is Fantasie, my fave (i'm an ex posh bra shop worker) and i would recommend them. You are the same size as me.

ebay is your friend, i get mine (new) on there from various suppliers.

Balcony gives a great shape, whereby they feel more to the front, i am not keen on full cup bras. A balcony does not mean they are spilling out, they are just in a forward facing postion, and slightly uplifted.

pm if you have any more questions

Go to Bravissimo - they're good. And if you are 32E --- that is not small!
