To think the hotel should have

Let those of us on the floor below aware that they planned on spending ALL day renovating? Drilling all sodding day, I'm not on holiday it's part of work.

I could've sat outside in 37 degree heat but prefer my air conditioned room. I'm in the arse end of nowhere and still can't get any peace.

Shouldn't the hotel at least made us aware of their construction plans?

Don't see why. Is it a spa place? Thats different. Wouldn't they expect guests to go out?

If it's just one day, they're under no obligation - it could be emergency repairs for example. You should complain though. If you were staying longer, then yes, they should have told you.

Just ask for a room change. They have to do maintainence at some stage
