YABU, the proper words are skinamarink, not skinamarink, sorry.

It's a Canadian kids ditty

Montybojangles · 02/06/2013 11:00

Comes from a Canadian children's tv show of the same name

xigris · 02/06/2013 11:02

Wasn't that song in the movie of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof?

Montybojangles · 02/06/2013 11:06

Oh don't know xigris , perhaps the kiddies show was named after the song then.

xigris · 02/06/2013 11:32

Just googled it and it was! I'm pants with links though, sorry! Blush

Theironfistofarkus · 03/06/2013 06:31

Shame really. I do prefer "skidamarink". Can't get it out of my head either way! Aaaargh!

Its from Sharon, Lois and Bram. A hugely successful trio from the 70s.

Theironfistofarkus · 03/06/2013 07:55

I probably ought to remember them or maybe I subconsciously do (which might explain why I can't stop singing it!). It is going to make it v difficult to do my (very serious) job today.

I learnt tiddly winky winky winky winky woo to the same tune at Bognor Butlins in the 60's

Theironfistofarkus · 03/06/2013 21:00

That made me smile complex. Did you get to play tiddlywinks too?
