He always pours the milk in and then puts in the cereal.

I, and everyone I have ever watched eat cereal, put cereal in, then milk.

AIBU? Am I wrong? DH is adamant.

Oooh I do this! I hate soggy cereal and this, way it remains crunchy.

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 02/06/2013 09:24

Dry.... Dp does that and refuses to acknowledge that it's wrong. Despite me and everyone who's ever seen him doing it telling him it's disgusting and wrong.

It makes me ill just watching him Envy

uniqueatlast · 02/06/2013 09:27

We host French students and they quite often put the milk in first.I thought it very odd when I first noticed it.

DryCounty79 · 02/06/2013 09:57

SummerRain - I can't stand tea that's been made that way, it just tastes of watery milk, or milky water!

Maybe it's your DP's cunning way of attempting to get out of making tea..? Grin

SummerRainIsADistantMemory · 02/06/2013 12:03

Nope, I don't take milk so it doesn't affect my tea. His whole family do it like that so he was brought up on tea flavoured milk as opposed to actual tea and refuses to change.

He actually makes tea in other people's houses to make sure his is done that way as everyone refuses to do it wrong for him Grin

OwlinaTree · 02/06/2013 12:07

I do it like that with weetabix. It floats on top and by the time it hits the bottom of the bowl it's just right!

IneedAsockamnesty · 02/06/2013 13:11

I am now expecting to see you post that he also eats shoes

SybilRamkin · 02/06/2013 13:18

He is clearly BU. How unnecessarily obstreperous. LTB. Grin

twofingerstoGideon · 02/06/2013 13:26

Is he Italian? I had two Italians staying with me last year and they both did this, too.

twofingerstoGideon · 02/06/2013 13:27

Ah, I see unique has also identified this as a continental phenomena.

WandaDoff · 02/06/2013 13:29

He's a freak.

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/06/2013 13:36

Your DH is very very wrong!

TheHerringScreams · 02/06/2013 15:47

DH is Russian (North East Asian Russian). I'm Swedish. He's not Italian, French or European.

I quite like dry rice crispies, and Cheerios, but nothing else.

It would annoy me too. My husband pours milk all over porridge & scoops it up in great wet dripping & splashing spoonfuls - so annoying I don't make porridge anymore.

ThisWayForCrazy · 02/06/2013 18:20

I do this with a particular cereal.

But what I really can't fathom is why on earth it bothers you.
