..of the school runs?

Working 9-5 with no car as of next week so the DC's (4 & 2) will be taken to nursery and DC1 will be taken and picked up from school Mon-Fri.

I really don't like the school run anyway as all the mothers are a bit cliquey but I will miss seeing her little face as she skips out after school Hmm

Almost feel like crying just thinking about it. She'll be in safe hands and I'm so happy to be working again but waaaah, it feels like I'll miss a lot

YADNBU. Have a (((( hug ))))

YANBU - I remember how sad I was for not being able to do some runs - but things and jobs change - you never know who is going to give them lifts in years to come :)

FlatsInDagenham · 02/06/2013 00:57

YANBU. I totally sympathise. I was in the same position as you three months ago. But the good news is that we are totally used to the new routine now and while my 4yo DD was sad at first, she now says she likes going to the childminder after school. She certainly likes the CM's cooking better than mine!

Go ahead and have a good cry. Then take heart. You will all be just fine.

Am I being pathetic? It's just going round and round in my mind and DC1 insists she's fine with it but she's 4 so I don't know how it will affect her.

It won't affect her, right? Oh God, I AM pathetic! Confused

It won't affect her.
You'll be home to have supper with her.
It will be fine

I HATE the school run. I like the other parents and having a natter, but I hate the deadline ticking down towards me all day like another level of mild stress to add to the rest. I would do anything to get out of it.

The one thing I would say it to try to keep in touch with the life of the school when you can, and to try to find time for an early dart from work and a playdate once a month or so. IF and only IF it is possible.
