Agree they are for teens( who should be told off in no uncertain terms.)

Older than that its minging.

Areyoumadorisitme · 31/05/2013 17:46

Haha, I would be smirking too!!

Again, haven't seen a friend with one since I was about 14! I occasionally put one on DH's bum though as it amuses me GrinGrin

WorraLiberty · 31/05/2013 17:47

It depends on if it was done on purpose or by accident during a passionate moment.

If it was the former, then it's childish and embarrassing imo but not repulsive.

TheHerringScreams · 31/05/2013 17:47

YANBU, I haven't seen anybody have one since early teens!

Buzzardbird · 31/05/2013 17:48

Hand her the toothpaste and a mn scarf Grin

quesadilla · 31/05/2013 17:51

YANBU. They are gross even on teenagers, let alone someone approaching middle age.

squoosh · 31/05/2013 17:53

They're fine if they're somewhere that's covered. But on the neck? At 35? Hmm

I'd wouldn't be able to stop myself saying 'A hickey from Kenickie's like a hallmark card'.

mybestday · 31/05/2013 17:56

I'm so relieved you agree. I was worried i was getting old before my time.

Suggest she gets his name tattooed around the circumference. Grin

IfIonlyhadsomesleep · 31/05/2013 18:01

Never had one. Not sure whether I should be sad about that, but an intentional one at 35 seems unusual!

Flobbadobs · 31/05/2013 18:10

The sight of them makes me heave tbh BUT before I get flamed for over reacting...
A rather spectacularly twatty Ex a long time ago once pinned me down and gave me one right on the neck where everyone could see it in the middle of Summer. I felt like a real prick and More or less confined myself to my house until it went. That was one of the nicer things he did to me, although cheating on me was the best thing he ever did!
They bring back memories and look cheap so YANBU.

LEMisdisappointed · 31/05/2013 18:54

They put me in mind of the sort of woman who goes to the garage in her onsie for a packet of Fags!!!

It's something young teens do to say "look I kiss boys!" I can't imagine why an adult would walk around with one, she must look a right tit.

Titsalinabumsquash · 31/05/2013 19:20

I have tons of them all over my chest .... They're all from DS3 trying to latch on whilst I'm asleep. Grin

They're a very teenage thing to go around sporting, maybe offer her a scarf until its gone Wink

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/05/2013 19:21

Yanbu. I thought they were rank when I was 14. I think the same at 24.

phantomnamechanger · 31/05/2013 19:22

when I was 13 our male teacher (mid 30s) had one, and we all sniggered behind the desk lids.

I had one once, aged 16, first BF, wore a scarf or high necked jumper all week - luckily it was November!

carabos · 31/05/2013 19:35

Years ago we took DS2's best friend on holiday with us as his parents had just split up amidst a lot of turmoil.

When we took him back, his mum answered the door looking like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards and covered in love bites - she will have been in her mid to late thirties. She looked slightly embarrassed and said "new bloke" Hmm. I was a bit judgy, I admit.
