To feel a little teary-eyed about this?

My 6 year old DS has been staying with my amazing parents this week, as I was a bit stuck for childcare. I last saw him Tuesday evening and have been really missing him. He?s due to come home this evening, and I?ve been really looking forward to snuggling with him on the sofa.

He called to speak to me today. I thought ?Ah, he?s missing me and wants to tell me his plans for us for this evening?. Nope. He wanted to know if he could stay at my parents? for another night.

I actually had tears in my eyes a little bit! I really don?t mind at all, I?m glad he has such a good time there and I know he adores them and they adore him. But I miss my baby!! Sad

(I am exactly the same...kids away last night, house felt very quiet...i slept in their bed Blush. im supposed to be working though Sad)

Not at all. I long for time to myself without DCs yet if they are ever away from me for more than a couple of hours I hate it! Even though they are well, happy, with people who love them and care for them like their own, I can't help wishing I was with them!! Sad, but true!

Ah well op you should be proud to have raised a confident loving little boy and to have done a good a job as your own parents did.

DryCounty79 · 31/05/2013 12:05

thebody, thank you for your post, such a nice thing to say.

Mikulus, that's me exactly!

Boomba, I am supposed to be working too Blush I have also been known to sleep in my son's bed on occasion when he's away. It seems worse at night/bedtime, for some reason.

I am in an especially sappy mood today though. Must be the lack of sleep this week.

Aw bless you. Have some Flowers. I'd miss mine too if they were gone that long. It's true though that he sounds like a great kid and you're all lucky to have such close bonds with parents/grandparents.

DryCounty79 · 31/05/2013 19:53

NotYoMomma - she nearly did!

BlackHoles, thank you for the flowers. You're right, we are lucky and he is a great kid, even if I do say so myself Grin
