i have a half sister who is 20 years younger than me, all she has done is look down her nose at me and make comments for example suggesting i am illegitimate, or snidy comments about how 'posh' my mum was, or comments about me being an 'unmarried mother', most recently she called me a 'cunt' to my children - well ok fine but for some reason she likes my daughter who she describes as her 'niece' even though my brother and I have heard several times over the years how we are not related to them - so that is a bit odd as surely a 'niece' is the child of your sister? and has these long private chats with her on fb, quizzing and questioning any of our family plans. it makes me irrationally angry, AIBU?

Why do you allow her to have contact with you DD on FB? She sounds like a terrbile role model, I would be blocking here asap.

lottieandmia · 29/05/2013 11:23

Why is it fine for her to call your a cunt?

Cut her out of your life - she's poisonous.

AllegraLilac · 29/05/2013 11:27

Why is she allowed near you and your children? Just cut her out.

HollyBerryBush · 29/05/2013 11:28

How old is she in comparison to your children?

Heartbrokenmum73 · 29/05/2013 11:29

She called you a cunt to your children?

And you called her on this, yes?

BuntyPenfold · 29/05/2013 11:29

Block her and have nothing to do with her, why would you?

burberryqueen · 29/05/2013 11:30

she is about 14 or 15 years older than them I think

She sounds like an immature idiot. I wouldn't bother with her, don't give her any headspace.

burberryqueen · 29/05/2013 11:32

heartbrokenmum no i did not as it would create too much tension and would have meant being blanked by the 'family' , basically they can say waht they like but if anyone , ie me or my brother reacts then we are the bad ones and just get blanked...we are mostly blanked anyway...

OP posts:
BuntyPenfold · 29/05/2013 11:34

If a family member called me that to my children then I would certainly be creating more than tension.
Stand up for yourself please.

PunkHedgehog · 29/05/2013 11:36

So if you're going to be blanked anyway, stick up for yourself in the knowledge that it won't make things worse.

You don't have to put up with this at all - cut them out if you don't get on with them and they treat you like crap. You have your own family with your children and your brother, let the rest of them go.

HollyBerryBush · 29/05/2013 11:37

Drop her quicker than a hot potato.

FaithLehane · 29/05/2013 11:38

Just cut her out and anyone else who agrees with her. Life is too short to take this kind of crap especially from people who are supposed to be family.

burberryqueen · 29/05/2013 11:46

ok thanks everyone, your replies made me feel much better about it all.
