My son who 8 years old came off his scooter this evening. I gave him some nurofen first at roughly 8.40pm. Put him in bed 20min ago and gave him some calpol. Did I do the right thing

Yes. Well, in the sense the Calpol and Nurofen can be given simultaneously.

If he hit his head, and that was what was hurting then keep an eye on him.

Assuming he was in pain and didn't have a head injury that needed checking then yes.

Its perfectly ok to mix calpol and nuropfen providing you haven't got both paracetamol versions.

But if he's still in pain you may want to check with a doc re fractures as unless he messed up his skin quite dramatically I would be surprised at him needing both for grazes and cuts or bruses.

Thanks. He banged his chin, scraped his elbows and knees. One of his knees looks swollen but he can put pressure on it and walk on it

They're from different groups of pain killers so yes they can be given together or staggered. Although I would have given the Calpol first.
