To get a small trampoline for my 2-5 year olds?

Will they injure themselves on it / get bored of it?

Thinking of getting one of those little indoor / outdoor ones for dd's 2nd birthday next month. DSs are 3 and 5 and would use it too. They would prob argue as only one can use it at a time it but that's prob safer than a big one?

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has got one and would recommend that brand (or not!)

I was probably being u for shoving mine of the same age all on a 14 footer (with a safety net, natch) and letting them argue it out on there (oh, dd2 couldn't walk, either. It was great for her development).

I'd say the 5yo is well past a toddler toy, tbh. But the 2 yo will like it. Kids can injure themselves doing pretty much anything.

You'll be buying a big one within two years max, though. Just prepping you.

A toddler one will be crap for the 5 yr old and will last the 2 yr old about 6months before its crap for them too.

We've got a bug one. Our dd's are 3.8 and 23months.

Not worth getting a small one. Out dd's friends come over to use it too.

My Mum has one of the small ones in her house. The 2 and 5 year old love it. They both (not together ) used it outside for most of yesterday. A bigger one isn't at option and she's had the small one for about 2 years - it's been great.

prissy - i know, it was a bit convoluted wasn't it. i quite like the challenge of making something fit AIBU.

Don't think we will be buying a big one, as our garden is small and it would take up the entire grass space, which the DC use a lot for other things now. If we had a bigger garden I'd love a big one.

not using it/growing out of it quickly is a concern.

I do hope you live in a rural area with a field. Trampolines are just so goddamed annoying in suburbia, when ever you think it's safe to sit out side, shrieking and yelling all round. People just have zero consideration for their neighbours sanity these days.

Sorry, it was just the bog standard £29.99 one from Smyths. The toddler group my dd3 goes to has the same one, it's very popular there as well not so much with the parents

In my experience they grow out of them fast....I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old and they both go on our 8 foot one a LOT. Can you get maybe a 5 foot one?

Even a 5 foot one requires one child at a time though so you will still have to arguments!

Buy a big one and teach them to use it safely. A small one gets boring very quickly.

Oh quite - all those horrible children enjoying themselves. Not like when I was young. We never played out, or accidentally kicked the ball over the neighbours fence 10 times a day or had water fights, or scrumped cherries, or rode round the block on our bikes. Just sat quietly in pretty dresses making daisy chains in silence, even the boys.

We were considerate.
