Just had a scroll through my Facebook and someone on there has share this picture, clearly condoning domestic violence towards women. Seriously, why can't Facebook screen these things.

Have googled it as not sure if it will come up if I post the Facebook link. Honestly I'm horrified

Facebook are very well known for allowing stuff like this. But put up a pro breast feeding pic and see how quickly it gets removed.

A petition for what? To get Facebook to screen every post made for possibly offensive content?

I agree that the image is horrible, but I think they only way to deal with things like these is to educate people so they don't find things like this funny, and will challenge their friends publicly for sharing such images. I really don't think going after the social media platform is a helpful approach, sorry.

Why don't you comment on this friend's post and challenge them directly?

You can report it as spam to fb, I'm not sure it'd be feasible to think fb should check out every status update/picture, how would they go about that? There must be billions of them every day.

I'm not very impressed with Facebook at the moment. I reported someone posting: "All muslims love Allah so much so we should put them all on a boat and bomb it, making sure it's a rough sea as we wouldn't want any of them surviving, then they can meet Allah" and Facebook will NOT remove the post as apparently it does not break their rules

People have reported that picture (and others on the same theme) to FB but FB say that they don't break their rules. Pictures of mastectomy scars are removed as offensive though.

There's a campaign based on twitter called FBrape where people are reporting to the advertisers when they see an advert next to one of these images - unsurprisingly the advertises don't want their brand associated with this kind of sick nastiness so they are putting more pressure on FB. I think it is going to take a sustained effort though, FB seems to be run like a frathouse by the way they have responded to criticisms over the years. This campaign has been going a few days now though and is building up coverage in newspapers and on websites all over the world so maybe, just maybe, they'll listen.

Jesus, and FB actually think this is ok to post judging by their official response to complaints about it...but yes, dare to put up a picture of breastfeeding and the world comes to a standstill, the skye falls down, world war III begins and Hell freezes over...

There are a billion people on FB, so it would have to be a massive number complaining for them to bother. What they are paranoid about is porn which is why any breast etc will betaken down.

Bollocks they are quite happy with porn it rarely gets removed. The stuff that does get removed very quickly is breast feeding images and images of mastectomies they are not porn but fb thinking they are is quite telling.

FB does not have a special vendetta against breast feeding, that's ridiculous. They are trying to cull porn all the time but a lot of it goes up all the time.

And MN not moderated? Come off it, there care threads being pulled down and comments deleted all the time, that doesn't happen in unmoderated forum.

Facebook has loads of porn groups up which are allowed to stay. The only things I've ever seen pulled down is pictures of mother's breast feeding and scientific images of a woman's undercarriage. In the breastfeeding pics the mother's breast was covered entirely!

Lazy, fb delete any bf and mastectomy pictures really really quickly and any group featuring them,its a very well known about thing its been brought up in the media and they have released press statements about them being against fb guidelines.

However a image of a dog being abused by a woman who was very obviously having sex with it was left to stand for several days.
