AIBU to smoke pot while cleaning house?

My house, obviously, just to be clear! And I go outside to do it so the house isn't danky.
I do it for two reasons.
The first is because I have a chronic condition that can be painful, having a bit first means I ache less and can work harder for longer.The second reason is that housework is so routine it doesn't require much thought. It is a great time to let the mind wander, and let the body get on with the work.

My DC are older teens, and this is only when they are at school for the day.
I prepare snacks ahead of time, so I don't need to raid treats. I usually make up a plate of fruit and veg slices, stuff I can grab and pop into my mouth as I go past. I also make sure to have a big sipper of water with me.
Otherwise I could end up eating way to much. been there done that

You should make weed brownies!!

I know someone who made a a chocolate cake and put 20g of weed in it. I wonder if he got stoned/munchies/full of eating cake at the same time.

I sometimes smoke it when DC go away at weekend. I try not to Mon-Fri but I have PTSD and weed helps my sleeping.

I wander about at 3am during the week, my GP knows, I had him giggling the other day. I told him I was fine until I stopped smoking weed so still smoke it sometimes

Why do you need to ask if YABU? The only way I'd give a shit what people do in their own homes is if you were in charge of a child or vulnerable adult.

I don't mean to offend with that, it's just that if you want to smoke a joint and you've no caring responsibilities, then smoke a joint.

And, what, lolaflores is wrong with doing housework with a glass of wine or a GnT?
I mean, as long as you are not up at 9am with the corkscrew why shouldn't you chill with a glass while you clean down the kitchen after dinner and sort the washing out?

I had thought about LSD, I took one when I was 17 and started seeing things, I vomited and there were spider in the toilet coming to get me, bad trip I believe its called, never again, it was even called a strawberry, there was nothing sweet or fruity about that night.

Vodka redbulls would help you clean up.

I drank them all night while out. When I got in in the early hours I was wired. Pissed and couldn't sleep so cleaned up!

Yanbu. You'll get hyper-focussed on zapping those really skanky bits behind the fridge.

Tramadol was the weirdest stuff for cleaning though. Totally wired and speedy, totally pain-free at last and couldn't relax enough to sleep or concentrate long enough to listen to music, so cleaned the cooker at 3.00am. The INSIDE of the cooker!

Tramadol, now we have some of that in the cupboard. Along with diclofenac, co codamol, dihydrocodeine and many more...

So I do a good line in semi legal drugs but have nothing stronger to get me interested in cleaning apart from some 1989 advocaat in the garage. That and tramadol, maybe?

I just don't understand why people do it/joke about it. Just because nothing's happened yet doesn't mean it wouldn't.. I'm assuming you wouldn't allow your children to do it?

It's just a frame of mind that's completely alien to me. I probably wont ever understand it.

Eaten I'm able to joke as I honestly dont care what someone on the internet does while she is alone in her own home. Shes using the wrong stuff anyway so the house work wont get down. She will just sit laughing and eating

why waste good pot smoking time with housework. As Quentin Crisp said, the dust doesn't get any worse after the first 10 years, so just plonk yourself on the sofa and skin up a fat one.

In answer to those who wonder why I would clean house, instead of relaxing...
I need a clean house for peace of mind.
I grew up in a situation where housework was always the last thing to get done, so it didn't often get done.
Too much mess, clutter or mucky surfaces, and I start feeling closed in, and stressed.
Pot can be mind stuff, or body stuff. The body stuff is great for relaxing, but I'd never accomplish anything.
The stuff that impacts the mind and not the body (as much) makes me feel really energetic. I also use it before a really long run, as I feel like I can go forever.
I focus, and because I am not hurting or aching, I finish the jobs I start. I can de-clutter without dithering, and I notice all the little things that can get missed in a regular tidy round.
I am not smoking the crazy strong stuff, it has never made me see things, or hear voices, or anything daft like that!

A pal took an LSD then took himself off to A&E because he thought he was an orange and was terrified of being squeezed.

This was nearly 30 years ago and I still get the giggles when I think of it.

DH doesn't approve so it must be 15 years since I had a spliff. I can think of nothing more appropriate for housework than being off one's tits while doing it. I did mine last week after several cheeky champagnes, that was fun!
