Both DD and DS love watching it.

Dora is well behaved and never gives up

she doesn't get herself into a pickle due to get own bad behaviour (yes Thomas the Tank Engine I'm looking at you)

she doesn't hold a grudge

she had helped DS's problem solving

the 'we did it' song is so catchy

I handed down my daughter's Dora DVDs with a wicked chuckle to a poor unsuspecting victim at work who thanked me profusely, "oh XXXX loves Dora, and I do too, it's fun but soooooo educational".

Say it with me, in that whiny shriek of a voice, over and over and over and over and over and over and over......arrrrrgh!!!!

I love Dora!
4 year old DD knows all her colours in Spanish thanks to Dora and it's great that there is a TV programme with a female lead character that isn't drippy or princessy. DS1 loves it too.

I fecking hate 'the map' though.

I love Dora and her independent awesomeness

Dd1 is fond of her too

It's great - 4YO DS and 2YO DD love her.

I also think having a capable, non-frilly female lead in a formative-years children's show is great.
