She was supposed to be playing with a friend after school today ( agreed last week) either at our house or theirs. I have just texted the mum to confirm where and had a message saying that she had asked someone else now!
Doesn't really help when poor thing was really upset this week about not being invited to a party the only one in a group of 4 who play together lots.

Well, you know not to trust that woman again, don't you? If she tries to arrange something else just say no. That is beyond rude!

Why was she left out of party?

I do feel for you and dd. A mum at Ds's school promised to take her son and ds out for the day (inset day).

She never turned up, didn't answer her phone, ds spent ages looking out of the window for them. Turned out she took another boy instead.

I found out from someone else. She didn't even have the decency to apologise or explain.

Thanks guys we've come to the park instead and she's having a lovely time.
She was more upset about the party to be honest. Had made a card and present to take into school on day of friend's birthday as she didn't think there was going to be a party but, still wanted friend to have something. Invites were given out the same morning.

Sorry to hear about your ds Tuneless, thats really not on. At least the mum apologised in our case.

The sheer pathetic-ness of some grown women never ceases to amaze me. What disgusting behaviour from the other mum.

I have an issue at my dd's school where she is friends with 3 girls but one mum doesn't like me and so dd is never invited round their house and consequently the other 2 mums seem to have been poisoned against me too and they never invite dd either. I've long since given up inviting their girls round as its always a no. Such a shame

How old are we talking ?

I had a friend who didn't have kids of her own and she would constantly tell me how heartbreaking it was not to have kids so asked me if it would be ok if she could sometimes take my kids out for the day instead - I said sure as the girls all liked her - she would then tell them when and where and then just not turn up or even call and then when I did manage to get hold of her would claim she had simply forgotten and do the same thing all over again!!

It was today it was supposed to be, and nothing mentioned from not-quite-concrete plans last week until now? As you posted at quarter past three, tbh if I was the other mum I'd have assumed you weren't interested once it got to this morning with no text to confirm basic details like where.

I do feel sorry for your daughter though, especially re. the party.

You are probably right Kaida. I think it was a genuine case of forgetting just felt sorry for Dd. Both me and other mum had had pretty hectic weeks and I also had done the school pick up since last week.
Dd is 7 by the way.
Have put it in to perspective now. I think I was feeling a bit sad( and may be a bit guilty) for dd that I hadn't confirmed earlier. I will make a note to be more organised in future.
Still she had a great time in the park so wasn't especially bothered herself.

I meant hadn't done the school run which is how we usually make plans for play dates rather than by text though this week an earlier text would have been sensible on my part.
