To think Radio 2 should know better

Than to continually have plugged this link here youtube video on air today? So what if someone took half an hour to park? It would have not have helped her that there were a bunch of students baying and jeering. It is quite obvious that they can be heard from the street. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't find intimidating behaviour and taking the piss out of others very entertaining. Students will be students, but I think a National Radio station should know better...

To be fair, the man filming did go out and offer to park for her.

Radio 2 just picked it up from the rest of the internet. It's gone viral.

ENSMUM · 30/04/2013 15:40

If you don't think it is fair to encourage people to watch it, why link to it on here?

LineRunner · 30/04/2013 15:41

What ENSMUM said ^^

Nehru · 30/04/2013 15:44

Tbh she's so shit she shouldn't be driving

HDEE · 30/04/2013 15:46

It was such a shocking display of driving, she shouldn't be behind the wheel.

It wasn't just a few manoeuvres to get into a spaces he had no concept of space, of how to get where she needed to be.

waikikamookau · 30/04/2013 15:49

I think Jeremy vine was discussing it as well, I think I first heard aobut it this morning, on yahoo or something. it is funny. I hate parallel reverse parking, to the right side particularly, she was rubbish though.

LineRunner · 30/04/2013 15:51

Please don't make me want to watch it. Then I won't be able to be all smug any more.

LayMizzRarb · 30/04/2013 15:57

I deliberately didn't link to the video, but the radio 2 facebook page promoting the video.

Watch it, LineRunner. It will make you feel better next time you have to park and don't nail it on your first attempt.

Nehru · 30/04/2013 16:00

I laughed like a drain. The students were funny

LineRunner · 30/04/2013 16:03

But I was all po-faced upthread. What will the nuns think? Grin

ShatnersBassoon · 30/04/2013 16:06

I sent Mother Superior the link earlier. She replied 'PMSL'.

ipswitch · 30/04/2013 16:09

I heard about it from the phone in on J vine show too, had to look when I got in and was trying to be serious about the poor woman etc...but just PMSL at her attempts and the rowdy students banter. So funny.

So I think YABU.

MrsHoarder · 30/04/2013 16:10

I agree op. I can parallel park, but the harassment from students and a strange young man trying to get me to getout and hand over my keys would almost certainly make me mess it up. I'm impressed she didn't decide to drive off.

Anyway, radio 2 shouldn't be encouraging this type of behaviour even if it is viral.

waikikamookau · 30/04/2013 16:13

I think the northern Ireland commentators are a scream Grin
oh go on

Shylepite · 30/04/2013 16:25

I thought the people filming knew her? I found it hilarious but worrying that she is allowed out on the road! The space was huge and she just had no idea of which way to turn the steering wheel and a complete lack of spacial awareness. How on earth did she pass her test? Confused

Thisisaeuphemism · 30/04/2013 16:28

Steve wright is a twat. Anything he likes I dislike.

ChippyMinton · 30/04/2013 16:39

YABU. You should know better than to have plugged the link here.

is it funny?

waikikamookau · 30/04/2013 16:43

the actual you tube one is very very long I believe

NeedaWee · 30/04/2013 16:44

Hilarious, especially the last couple of minutes when she is almost parked and still stuffing it up lol

cocolepew · 30/04/2013 16:49

I'm just glad it wasn't me.
But really who spends half an hour trying to park? She could have drove into the space it was massive .

Nehru · 30/04/2013 17:04

I love that you can hear the next door room cheering

MrsHoarder · 30/04/2013 17:08

Did they ask her permission before filming her and putting it on the internet? I know you don't have to legally, but its rather sad that this woman is facing millions of people watching her and laughing. People who she has to deal with everyday will have seen this video.
