To think DH should get his arse out of bed?

I had to put up with both the DCs in bed with me from 1:30 last night. DS2 (1yo) cosleeps (not a problem), DS1 (3yo) had had a nightmare (again, no problem for him to come in to my bed). DH got to sleep in DS1's room uninterrupted and I did all the subsequent soothing as DS1 was unsettled which was then disturbing DS2.

AIBU to think when the DCs then got up this morning DH should've leaped out of bed and come to collect them so I could get in a 20 minute power nap before having to get up?

This occasionally happens in my house. I've decided that DP doesn't "do" subtle hints so I have to spell it in neo lights how I'm feeling - in this example both children would be taken in to DH and I would say I have had a rough night with them, I'm going back to bed It's not a question or request, it's a statement.

Yes. He should have. Why not talk to.him about this tonight? The one who gets the full night sleep gets up early in this house.

Or ask him to be 'on duty' tonight.

YANBU. In our house, I do the night wakings (mostly) and then DH gets up with DC and lets me have 45mins in bed before he goes to work.

Either alternate who does the nights or ask him to give you a break in the mornings.

What's he like at weekends and other times?

Yanbu. Sometimes my 3.6 year old dd wakes at nite. I sort her out. Sometimes she's easy to settle, other times can take an hour or so.
My dh will get up with the girls first thing, and give them breakfast, whilst I have a power nap. He never deals with them, but since I broke my leg 2 weeks ago, and been in hossy since waiting for surgery, he's had them, and is doing my job.

Thank you all. I was just having a bit of a hissy fit yesterday. He is normally very good, and on the weekends we alternate (like lots of MNetters and their DPs!).

I just detest getting out of bed before I'm ready to, whatever day it is!
