Just spoken to my Ex and he has taken my 4 yo DD out in the car to a place 20mins away, and hasn't put her in her car seat.

I'm furious, am I over reacting?

I wouldn't be impressed either. As her dad he should have everything he needs for when she visits. Even if that means taking your car seat. Laziness IMO

HappyJustToBe · 21/04/2013 14:18

YANBU. Did he give a reason?

KLou111 · 21/04/2013 14:18

Why hasn't he? I wouldn't be very happy tbh especially if he has it with him, it only takes a few seconds surely?

I have the car seat at my house, but i'm a 2min walk from his house, and would have taken it up. I called him to ask him if he wanted it and he was already in the car driving (friend driving not him). I said I couldn't believe he hadn't come and got it, and he said it was a non issue Shock

There is no emergency, just sunday dinner at a pub.

Id be livid. Beyond livid. I'm obsessive about car seats since having an accident with DS in car, in which he would have definitely died had he not been strapped in a proper car seat.

Was there a reason?

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 21/04/2013 14:28

Oh god Imagine your scaring me Sad

OP posts:
puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 21/04/2013 14:29

Yeah the reason was he didn't think it was a problem Shock

YANBU! I'd be furious! A "non-issue"?! I want to beat him on your behalf!

1Catherine1 · 21/04/2013 14:36

Actually, car seats for a 4 year old aren't particularly expensive, he needs to go out and buy one so he doesn't have to rely on you for it.

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE · 21/04/2013 14:47

So I am right to be fuming!

I don't mind taking it round, he doesn't take her out in cars often, I just thought he would have the sense to put her in a bleeding car seat when he did!

I would be livid. Absolutely furious. I was reading on Which about why they were so important just yesterday and its scary reading. He needs to get one to have whenever he needs one.

You can get a booster for a fiver. There is no excuse for a 4yo's father not to possess a car seat.

Planned outing is not an emergency. He is breaking the law. Twat.
